LaSalle Catholic teachers and staff are vigilant about providing a safe and healthy environment for our students.
We ask our parents and guardians to follow the policies listed on this page.
Snacks: All snacks or treats sent to school should be peanut/peanut butter free. We closely follow the Healthy Kids Act and request all snacks be nutritious: whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low fat cheeses and lean meats.
Illness Policy: If any of the following conditions are present or become present, it is required that your child/ren stay home or they will be sent home at the onset of symptoms while at LaSalle Catholic. Children may return to care when they are free of symptoms for a full 24 hours unmedicated or in extreme cases, released by a medical doctor. Parents/Guardians will be notified by a posting on the Parent Information Board if we have a case of an infectious disease in our center. Parents/Guardians of the child will be contacted and asked to come to the center and pick up their child/ren. If your child has an illness listed below, we ask that they do not attend our programs.
In the event a child becomes ill during the course of the day, to the point where they are not capable of participating in regular activities, the parents/guardians (or emergency contacts) will be contacted immediately and be required to come pick the child up within 1 hour of our call. Your child will be moved to a separate quiet area for rest away from the other children to prevent and minimize the spread of the illness. If parents/guardians cannot be reached, emergency contact people listed on PowerSchool or the Parent Intake Information Form will be notified. If your child will not be attending our programs on a scheduled day for any reason, we ask that you inform us.
Medication: We will administer medications to students at school if the medication is in the original container and a medication sheet with the parent’s signature accompanies the medication.
Healthy behaviors: We strongly encourage healthy behaviors such as washing hands with soap and water prior to meals, covering up coughs, and taking several drink breaks a day to keep well hydrated.
