A year ago, if we had told you that LaSalle Catholic would be and the precipice of growing our enrollment, and that we would be starting waiting lists, you would have thought that I had lost my mind! Even after you read this, you might think the same thing. Well as crazy as it sounds, LaSalle Catholic is growing, and we have started waiting lists as well!
What factors are at play in our enrollment growth? This is an important question that the leadership team and strategic planning committees are exploring. As families transition from one school to another (whether transferring in to or out of LaSalle Catholic) we gather information to better understand what we are doing well and what we can do better. We know that our safe and caring environment is a primary attraction, and this has only seemed to garner more interest in the last few years. Recent trends including increased parent satisfaction and academic excellence have also begun to impact decisions (fewer families leaving and more families enrolling). Current families are pointing increasingly to our commitment to mission (faith) as well as our commitment to partnership with families (communication) as things they find most attractive about their families’ experiences at LaSalle Catholic.
Of course we also explore reasons why families leave as well. Numbers of departing families are quite low this year, and the most common reason is due to the family moving out of town or too far from school to commute. While that is a challenging factor to address, we do continue to assess ways to improve our families’ experience to ensure that they love their time at LaSalle Catholic.
If you are one of the many people who support LaSalle Catholic through your parish, volunteer hours, financial contributions, prayers, or spreading the good word about us, thank you! I am increasingly convicted of St. Paul’s message in Romans 8:28, and that as our mission is part of God’s plan. It stands to reason, then, that God’s will is visible right here!
